What is Coaching?
The Person Coach Methodology
According to the ICF (International Coaching Federation) Coaching is: “a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires clients to maximize their personal and professional potential. The process of coaching often unlocks previously untapped sources of imagination, productivity and leadership.”
By applying the Person Coach methodology it’s a conversation or a series of conversations that define desires for the future, reflect on your current position in relation to those desires, think abstractly about how to get there and plan a course of action to get there.
We discuss where you want to go, where you are now, what you can do differently and when and where you’re going to take that next step.
Where do we start?
Well, that’s up to you. The first thing we do is set your goals, what do you want to be, do, or have? Does that align with who you are? What you believe to be right? How will you know when you get there? What will that feel like?
Now what?
Let’s see how far we need to go… How close are you to getting that? What do you need to get going? What do you need to do to keep going? Who are your cheerleaders?
And then?
It’s exploring solutions that seem impossible or ridiculous and making them possible and available, however wild your ideas go we will give each one the respect and attention they deserve, it’s only when you get to the edge that you can truly see what’s beyond.
One more thing…
We then find a way to expand your perception of what’s possible and live into that expansion. Once we’ve seen what’s out there, we’ll work to get you over the line. We break down the journey, and make each next step plausible and doable.

"That's not what I thought! I heard coaching was therapy!"
There are many common misconceptions about what coaching is. “It’s counselling”, “it’s therapy”, “it’s advice”, “it’s expensive”, none of these are true.
Coaching is first and foremost, future facing, all we need to know is where you are now and where you want to be.
Coaching is NOT therapy, an element of coaching involves looking at long held beliefs that hold you back, but we won’t go deep into your childhood.
Coaching will NOT provide you with answers, coaching will unlock the answers you already know.
Coaching is NOT, by definition, expensive and lengthy, shorter term coaching packages can be as powerful as weekly sessions over a course of 6 months. If you are clear on where you want to be and are willing to act on moving towards that, coaching can be extremely effective in just 6 weeks or even less sometimes.
