1000 words…

As a coach, it’s important to walk the walk as well as talk the talk, so among other things, I’ve set myself the goal of writing a 1000 word article on a coaching, wellbeing or mental health topic every 2 weeks.

This felt like quite the task to add to my time, so I thought, let’s coach this!

I’ve looked at my schedule, defined how much research I can do for the topic and how long I need to digest and then write the articles.

I listen to my clients across the week and if something pops up more often than anything else, I’ll take a deep dive into the subject, read a book, listen to some expert podcasts, research online, then I’ll cogitate and formulate my take on things.

I could take a critical position, I might feel really enthusiatic about it, it could be something I’ve taken on board myself and I’ll relate my experience, as long as I pick the option that feels right with the subject matter and aligns with how I feel about it.

Finally, I’ll give myself a couple of hours and write, edit, delete, organise, read and reread until I’m happy I’ve created something worth publishing and hit the button.

Find below a list of the articles, it will grow and grow until I don’t know what to do with them all, maybe I’ll buy some land, build a rustic fence and let them run around in the field.

...On Meditation

I can't pretend to speak from any place of authority on meditation, I've never been on a retreat, I'm not a buddhist, in fact I've never been south of the equator, let alone to the jungle temples of Thailand, but I can speak as someone who was taught simple meditation…
